Artist’s Statement: While it may not seem like it, these boats are sailing on a calm, sunny day. Sail boats aren’t as common as they used to be, but on a peaceful hot summer day, just about anyone would want to experience one. I was inspired to create this piece because I was longing for peace in the world after several mass shootings. This subtle message of peace expresses how little there is of it in the world, but if we could all find “our peace,” then our minds could be in a different place for just a moment.
