Artist’s Statement: In this photo, I used a double exposure technique to showcase many sides of my friend Andrea. She’s beyond beautiful and that is how most people see her—with only superficial beauty. As a first generation immigrant, her life is actually very complicated. I placed leaves over her to obscure some of her beauty and to provide an image that is more shattered, just like the pieces of her.
